FRUGAL TIPS

Cleaning Showerheads - Find it hard to clean hard water stains on the showerhead? Get one of those baggie/Ziploc bags, fill with White Vinegar (or you can use Lime Away but more expensive), tie it around the top so that it's covered, let it stay there for about an hour or so then remove. All clean!

Painting Clean-Up - Through painting for the day or will be taking a long break and don't want to have to wash up everything only to mess it back up again later on or the next day? Wrap up the roller or paint brush in a tight plastic bad then place in freezer. Just be sure to take out about a half hour before you are ready to use them. This is only to be done with Latex water base paint, NOT oil based.

Use a rubber spatula to get the last of the Mayo, Mustard and anything else that comes in a jar and is hard to get the last of out with a spoon or knife.

Cheese Lover?? Try buying it in large quantities when it's on sale, then grate it all up and store in a ziplock freezer bag. Take out of freezer when you need some & shake the bag or bang on side of counter to loosen, to get the amount you need, then put back in freezer!

Leftover grease/oil? Save those glass jars with lids from Mayo, Mustard, Tomato sauce etc. Pour extra oil or grease you no longer need in jars till full, put lid back on and throw in garbage. No more trying to pour down sink and risking clogging it up. (you might want to let any hot oil or grease cool down some before pouring into jar.)

Old tried and true trick! Put some rice in your salt shaker to keep from getting "sticky".

Brown Sugar or other sugar, to keep from getting hard, keep in freezer.

Love Mashed Potatoes? Next time you make them do a double batch so there's plenty left over, then put single servings in muffin tins and put in freezer till frozen, remove and store in ziplock freezer bag then just take out what you need later and heat in Microwave.
